Getting connected for the Circular Economy. This is the theme of this year’s IT symposium Convention on Digital Opportunities Aachen, which will take place on November 15, 2023. In the face of climate change, environmental pollution, social inequality and resource scarcity, companies need to take their responsibility to act sustainably now. Politicians are creating the framework with the EU climate protection package and the associated targets of the German government. Companies are required to integrate sustainability as a strategic goal, set clear targets and identify innovative solutions. The value-enhancing circular economy is becoming increasingly important for industry. The aim is to use materials and products for as long as possible by sharing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling them. Extended product life cycles and the efficient use of materials enable companies to promote environmental protection, overcome resource scarcity, drive innovation and increase their competitiveness.
At CDO Aachen 2023, experts will address the following questions, among others:
- How must organizational structures be set up in order to integrate the circular economy into the company?
- Which technologies support a value-enhancing circular economy?
- What data is needed to optimize processes and improve resource efficiency?
- How can the different players in an ecosystem be networked with each other?
CDO Aachen 2023 is digital, bilingual and free of charge. The Industrie 4.0 Maturity Center GmbH (i4.0MC) from Smart Logistics Cluster and the FIR at RWTH Aachen University are organizing the event.
