The Center Smart Serivces welcomes the companies DMG MORI and Westphalia DataLab (WDL) as its new members.

DMG MORI is one of the largest manufacturers of metal-cutting machine tools in Germany. The company’s diverse portfolio ranges from CNC-controlled turning and milling machines to advanced technologies such as additive manufacturing. DMG MORI also develops technology and automation solutions, e.g. for Industry 4.0.

By becoming a member of the Center Smart Services, the digital business is to be driven forward and, for example, insights from the pricing of digital products or customer success management are to be applied in the company. Together, the potential of building a digital platform for the trade of spare parts for mechanical engineering is to be evaluated.

Westphalia DataLab (WDL) is a start-up specializing in Data Science in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Individual customer solutions are implemented ranging from route optimization for logisticians to intelligent micro-segmentation for marketing teams. To complement this, WDL also offers turnkey software-as-a-service products.

The collaboration in the Center Smart Services aims to expand the understanding of data science and artificial intelligence in the manufacturing industry, implement AI solutions and anchor corresponding know-how in the company.
