How can industrial assembly systems become more flexible, efficient, and sustainable? Increasing product variety, skilled labor shortages, and uncertain supply chains are putting industrial production under pressure. Especially in assembly, which often still relies heavily on manual work, new solutions are needed.
F&E Onsite, a joint format of the Center Smart Assembly (CSA) from the Production Engineering Cluster, AGIT, and RWTH Aachen Campus GmbH, will take place on March 20, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Manfred-Weck-Haus (Steinbachstraße 19, Campus Melaten). The event will focus on innovative organizational structures, intelligent planning and control approaches, and support for humans in manual, complex assembly processes.
A key topic of the event is adaptive automation: How can assembly systems be designed to respond flexibly to product changes? Which concepts can help increase efficiency?
Additionally, there is a growing focus on disassembly: How can assembly systems be expanded to include disassembly tasks, making products easier to recycle or reuse? The Center Smart Assembly is also addressing this challenge with new methodological approaches, which will be presented at F&E Onsite.
Experience and Discuss Technology
Experience the latest research in mobile robotics, sensor technology, and assembly processes firsthand at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen University. In interactive workshops, you will discuss practical approaches for your company with experts from industry and research.
Registration is open until March 17, 2025, via this link.
About F&E Onsite: The F&E Onsite format, organized by AGIT, provides research units from RWTH Aachen, FH Aachen, and the research center with a platform to present themselves to regional companies and initiate new collaborations—directly on-site (onsite).
